Burnout is more than just feeling stressed or overworked. It is a state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged or repeated stress. It occurs when we feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet the demands of life. Burnout is most often caused by problems at work, however, it can also appear in other areas of life, such as parenting, caregiving, or relationships.
A quick and simple way to find if you’re burned out is to take the burnout self-test. It will take you two or three minutes, and although it is an informal method of assessing burnout, it is a valuable indicator of where you currently are.
